Decorating a table lamp with your own hands using toy figures
Decorating a table lamp with toy figures (or soldiers) is a simple and quick to implement project that will breathe new life into an old lamp (or old children's toys). Suitable for any small plastic toys, cars, soldiers or figures of super heroes. The most difficult thing in this project is to place the toys on the lamp so that an interesting composition is produced. Here everything depends on your imagination and imagination.
You will need:
- Paint balloon (color any at your discretion);
- Primer (better in a can);
- Knife (better scalpel);
- Sandpaper (fine-grained);
- Super glue (epoxy adhesive);
- Painting Scotch tape;
- An old lamp on a long leg.
Remove the lampshade from the lamp and unscrew the bulb (if it is). On the cartridge, put on a cellophane bag and wrap it around with paint tape (this will prevent ink from getting into the cartridge). The rest of the surface of the lamp is treated with sandpaper to improve the adhesion of adhesive materials.
Collect the figures in a single composition. If necessary, you can cut them or cut them in half, turn their hands and feet in the right sides. For the strength of the fastening, it is best to use epoxy adhesive. Please note that it takes time to grasp it, so you need to press the sticked figure with adhesive tape. Alternatively, you can use super glue, it will grasp quickly, but the strength will be less.
When the glue is completely dry - correct the composition and remove excess glue with a knife (better scalpel).
Using a paint tape, wind the lamp cord (so that the paint does not hit it).
Cover the entire surface of the lamp with a primer. It is needed as a base layer to paint over all the colored figures. Apply the primer in two layers. Let it dry completely.
Take a can of paint (color choose at your discretion) and apply it to the previously prepared surface of the lamp. Spray the paint neatly, try to keep the canister at a certain distance while spraying, so that the paint does not flow with drops.
After the paint dries completely, remove all the paint tape, insert the bulb and put the lampshade on. Your original desk lamp is ready!
