How to draw a mug

So, for work we need:

  • Mug (glass, ceramics) of any color, depending on the pattern that you have chosen. I chose a bright yellow ceramic mug, since bright sun colors initially convey positive emotions.
  • Paints and brushes for painting. Experience shows that those contours and colors that do not require "baking" are very unstable and the dishes painted with them can not be used for their intended purpose. Therefore, I recommend using special baked paint, which can be burned in a typical home oven at a temperature of 150-180 degrees. Such colors give a bright and resistant pattern and the dishes painted by them, you can use for many years. For this work I need black and white acrylic paint and a thin brush.
  • Drawing. Before applying the pattern to the ceramics, I practiced drawing several times on paper. In this case it's a funny cartoon kitten.

1. Wash the mug thoroughly and wipe dry. Wet a cotton swab in alcohol-containing liquid and wipe the mug. The surface must be degreased, so that the paint falls well. If there is no alcohol-containing liquid, the mug can be thoroughly washed with an ordinary detergent. This stage is very important.

2. With a pencil, apply the base of the drawing and begin to draw a black paint. Those who confidently use the outline can quickly do this by selecting the thickness and volume of the drawing. I used a thin brush to make the lines live and smooth.

3. After you have finished the foundation, we move on to the details: draw small parts of the body, make glints and correct inaccuracies, if any.

4. For roasting, you can use a conventional oven. We put the prepared mug in a COOL oven. Set the temperature to 120 degrees and bake the mug for 20 minutes. Then, without opening the oven, increase the temperature to 170-180 degrees and burn another 20 minutes. After that, the oven can be opened slightly, but the mug can not be removed until it cools down completely.

5. Our mug is ready! Now you can safely go on a visit and enjoy tea drinking and funny stories of the "little miracle" for which we tried!

Have a nice tea drinking, dear readers!

There are special paints for roasting and baking. Are sold in shops for needlework. There on tubes so directly and it is written, and the instruction as it to make is. After roasting, this paint can not be washed away, even with cleaning agents. Keep going as you need! And ordinary acrylic I think will wash with time ... and besides ... I would not eat with an "acrylic" plate.

The choice of paint depends on the further use of ceramic dishes. So we can distinguish three approaches to the choice of paint: 1 - acrylic paints + lacquer coating - create a glossy effect, the paint holds well enough, but there is no such thing; 2 - special paints for ceramics that do not require heat treatment - are suitable for quick "tuning", they are kept poorly, but you can eat from such utensils; 3 - paints that involve heat treatment - and keep well, and there is such a dish in the future you can. In principle, the same applies to markers: 1 - an ordinary permanent marker - quickly erased; 2 - special marker for ceramic... More comments »

Can I bake it in the microwave?

Hello! In a microwave oven it is possible to bake basically, but only if it has a function "oven", i.e. in the convection mode (this is when the air in the microwave oven is heated).
